What Does a Hospice Volunteer Do

Hospice volunteers are an important part of the care team at Elevate Hospice & Palliative Care. They offer their time and compassion to help patients and families in a variety of ways. Every volunteer receives thorough training to ensure they feel prepared and supported in their role.

As a hospice volunteer, you can expect to:

Provide companionship by visiting with patients, sharing stories, or simply being present.

Offer respite for caregivers so they can take a short break or run errands.

Assist with light household tasks or small errands to make daily life easier.

Help prepare simple meals or snacks when needed.

Read to patients, write letters, or help them with small personal projects.

Support office staff or special events that serve our patients and families.

Becoming a hospice volunteer with Elevate Hospice & Palliative Care is simple, meaningful, and deeply rewarding. To get started, complete our Volunteer Application Form, and a member of our team will reach out to discuss more with you. All hospice volunteers participate in a background check and complete a thorough training and orientation program. Training covers the essentials of hospice philosophy, communication skills, patient privacy, and ways to provide comfort and companionship.
